Your Adventure is Just Around the Corner!

Community Service

Spain’s youth have struggled for years with high unemployment rates. You’ll help Spanish children have better opportunities for the future by improving their English language skills. Spend several mornings at a school summer camp in Toledo. Run activities with your peers to help local children learn English, skill-building efforts that can have a tremendous impact as they age. Activities may include arts and crafts, a small theater, career exploration, a family tree activity, an environmental-focused project and more! This is also a unique chance to practice your own Spanish language skills, as you engage with the school children and local teachers during the course of your service project.

Immersive Learning

Take your Spanish language learning to the next level with engaging classes taught by local teachers and myriad opportunities for rich cultural exchange. Discover more about Spain’s literary history – including a visit to the windmills made famous in Cervantes’ masterpiece work. Learn from local artisans in skilled trades such as sword-making and the art of flamenco dance; then, try your hand at creating traditional Spanish cuisine in a cooking class.

Adventure

Explore the Spanish language through the lens of one of Spain’s most famous literary figures as you walk the steps of Cervantes in this land of Don Quixote. See Spain by land, air and water! In Madrid, go kayaking and visit the Prado Museum. Enjoy an afternoon by the Alto Tajo River. Explore Toledo via scavenger hunt and take in the cityscape from above on an epic urban zipline. For students participating in the 21-Day Flagship Program, a visit to the city of Barcelona is in the cards as well. Experience its tremendous, whimsical architecture all around you and discover its many cultural wonders.
